As well as all the writing, I’ve been known to do a bit of speaking from time to time. I’m always available to do readings from my books or to discuss any topics related to things I’ve researched and written about.
I have also taught a variety of writing workshops, including workshops on:
-Getting Started as a Writer
-Writing Effective Dialogue
I occasionally speak in my local church, and am available as a guest speaker for church groups. I like talking about women of the Bible, since I’ve written so much about them, but I can speak on a wide variety of topics.
If you want to book me for a speaking appointment or workshop, please email me at trudyj65@hotmail.com
If you enjoy sermons, I used to keep an archive of audio files of my sermons. Currently, these don’t work (so the apparent links below are a cruel joke) but I’m keeping them up there to remind me that they need to be re-activated. Sermons: Coming again soon!
June 12, 2010: Built on the Rock Pathfinder Investiture Sermon. That’s an audio file, like all the others below — video sermon is also available here.
April 24, 2010: Faithful to Complete It A look through the book of Philippians. I didn’t overemphasize this in church, but it’s a shameless tie-in to my new book about Lydia and the church of Philippi.
January 2, 2010: Unsung Heroes Some thoughts about Joseph, the Christmas story, and the unsung heroes among us.
Oct. 31, 2009: Reformation A timely reflection on Martin Luther, the Wittenberg Church door, and the need for a reformation of grace in all our lives.
Sept. 5, 2009: Happy All the Time Are Christians supposed to be happy all the time? And if you’re not, is there something wrong with your faith?
Feb. 14, 2009: True Love Just in time for Valentine’s Day, a reflection on love.
August 23, 2008: Dress for Success One of my all-time favourite topics I’ve ever preached on. How the gospel of Jesus was a direct challenge to the “gospel” of Caesar, and how Jesus’ definition of success still challenges the world’s definition.
May 10, 2008: A Mother’s Love Do we need to worship a goddess in order to experience a divine Mother’s love? As close to a reflection on feminine spirituality as you’re going to get in the St. John’s SDA church, just for Mother’s Day.
Feb. 2, 2008: Letting God Out of the Box Just like many Jews in Jesus’ time had clear expectations of what a Messiah was supposed to look like and do, we have our own expectations of God. God doesn’t always fit.
August 18, 2007: Truly Human Some reflections on what it means to believe in a Jesus who was fully human.

Hi Trudy,
Nice site:) Great sermon– “Unsung Heroes.”
One of these day’s I’ll have to read one of your books. Have a recommendation?
My friend Josie is in the process of publishing her first book. I guess you could call it an autobiography. I should connect you two.
bye for now,
Eric Ollila
