Postcard Caption contest — Week One Wrap-Up

Thanks to everyone who entered the first Postcard Caption Contest. I loved all the replies! My absolute favourite, though, was this suggestion from Lori:

And for anyone who’s curious, here’s the original:

It reads: “The joys of single blessedness would cease to make you hesitate, Dear sir, if you could only guess the gladness of the married state.” Combined with the “Leap Year 1908” logo in the upper corner, I’m assuming the lady in the hat is asking the bloke on the bench to marry her. But I like Lori’s version better.

Although Lori is the “winner” this week, everyone who entered a suggestion goes into the drawing for a copy of the book as soon as it’s released. Tomorrow I’ll post a new postcard for you to caption!
